III. Old Business

            A. Items decided on at last General Meeting in 2021

                  1. We will not have flights playing from different tees in regular low net tournaments. All flights

will play from the same tees as a rule unless the Tournament Committee deems it necessary or

                 the format calls for it.

                  2. Circle Hole is shortest Par 3 on the course and was

moved from landing 6 feet from the hole to 3 feet.

                  3. Implemented the Net Par 3 and Par 5 pools.

                  4. Clipboards given to the passenger so they can write the score and driver of the cart can just

focus on getting to the next tee.

                  5. Club Membership fee was raised in the first time in 10 years from $56 to $75. SCGA receives

                  $36 club receives $39.

                                    November – Alta Vista (TBD)

                                    December – (TBD)

                    4. Cost of Tournaments – Tournaments are going up in price:

                         a. To play golf in general the price has gone up.

                         b. Courses are putting a premium on scheduling tournaments i.e. shotguns are not an option anymore

unless we play a private course. On public course shotguns pay ultra premium price. $10 bump

                         c. Courses are no longer offering a senior discount on tournaments.

                         d. Courses are charging extra to book consecutive tee times in a row.

                         e. Golf courses are charging a premium for early tee times with dynamic pricing.

                         f. Courses are continuing to raise the rate of carts and range balls as a way of getting around gouging                               golfers for green fees.  Example Navy now charges $18 per person for a cart and many places charge $17

like all the Long Beach Courses. Range balls for a warm up bucket are up to $7 each.

Ways in which we are trying to save money on green fees

                     5. Suggestions

                         a. Look for courses that give us the best value for the price. Example of this is playing private courses

that might be a small percentage higher on green fees but throw in range balls, give us shotguns or

premium tee times. Instead of fighting with the public courses that might be less expensive on green

fees but when you throw in range balls and a shotgun or ask for consecutive early morning tee times the

price goes up. Plus the quality of golf courses at private clubs is just better.

                         b. Where range balls are not included buying three large buckets and splitting balls for all who want to

hit. Cheaper than purchasing 40 warm up buckets at $7 each.

                         c. If have to, book starts with later tee times.

                         d. Ignore the course and book independently online in order to get regular rates. Only drawback is that

tee times are harder to book consecutively and we might have the general public in between some

                         groups.

                         e. Continue to negotiate with local courses for better prices.

                         f. Play courses farther away that aren’t as busy to get better rates.

                         h. Piggyback a tournament with another club. More golfers at a venue usually helps cut prices but it also

                         makes for longer days.

                         i. Club supplement for Tournaments
